Twelve-year-old, Courtney, lives in a secluded community, governed by The Committee. Everyone is treated the same. One step out of order, and it’s the EJECTION. The word doesn’t concern Courtney until the unthinkable happens. Her dad triggers the siren, and her Mother, the Matriarch, must perform her rightful duty. She, along with The Committee, give him the EJECTION after he missed the community’s curfew by two minutes. But Courtney finds a break in the barb-wired, safety net when a family from the outside is granted permission to enter. She can either live by The Committee’s order or face the consequence with her new friend. The cost is her haven, but will a memorable sign from her dad be enough to foot the bill?
